HUARAZ:

The city of Huaraz is located north of Lima, in the Department of Ancash, at a height of 3080 meters. this city is situated in the dazzling Callejon de Huaylas, with the Cordillera Negra to the west of it, and the awesome Cordillera Blanca its east, forming its natural borders. Huascaran (6768 m), the highest mountain. In Peru arises from the Cordillera Blanca. Huaraz, also known as the “Capital of International Friendship” is a city of modern architecture with access to landscapes of incredible natural beauty

CORDILLERA BLANCA:

The Cordillera Blanca, which spans almost 180 Km. from South to North, is part of the Huascaran National Park. It contains 663 glaciers; 29 of them exceeding 6000 meters in altitude, and includes the highest peak in Peru “HUASCARAN” 6768 meters. Also found here is mountain Alpamayo 5947 meters, considered to be the most beautiful mountain in the world. The Cordillera Blanca possesses more than 269 lakes, and is ideal for adventurous activities such as trekking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and fishing among others. The best months for these activities are May through October. This time of year is ideal for such things as trekking in the Santa Cruz, Olleros – Chavin, Cedros and Vaqueria areas; and climbing mountains such as Huascaran, Alpamayo, Pisco among many others

CORDILLERA HUAYHUASH:

This mountains range is located 110 kilometers to the South of Huaraz, and 50 Km. to the South east of the Cordillera Blanca. It contains the second highest peaks in Peru, “YERUPAJA”, which is 6634 meters in height. Also found here is the mountain Siula Grande 6349 meters. Which was the setting for the docudrama film, “TOUCHING THE VOID”. The Cordillera Huayhuash is known for being an extremely beautiful area which astounds visitors.
